The behavior of consumers partly determines the intensity of competition between firms. For example, the responses of consumers to price changes can be sluggish and consumers sometimes ignore contractual provisions. This workshop intends to take stock of the insights from behavioural economics and to stimulate discussion on their implications for the instruments used within the context of competition policy. The starting point for the workshop will be a recent report by Oxera on behavioural economics in the context of competition policy, which has been commissioned by the Dutch Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM).

We cordially invite you to participate in the workshop. If you would like to attend, please send an e-mail with your name and affiliation to Ali Aouragh (a.aouragh@cpb.nl). Please, do not hesitate to forward this invitation to your colleagues. Please note that this workshop takes place in the (new) main building of the Ministry of Economic Affairs. You need to take your ID with you in order to enter the building. To remove your name from our mailing list, please, send an e-mail to a.aouragh@cpb.nl with the subject "Unsubscribe".
